Frank and Shawn met 20,000 years ago (jk, it was 20 years ago, though it feels like 20,000), at Rosedale's famed, Lakes Restaurant. In 2010, they launched Frank's Kitchen to critical acclaim.
In 2018, Frank and Shawn moved Frank's Kitchen to St. Clair Avenue West, opening FK as their first solo venture.

After a two year apprenticeship at a 2 Michelin Star restaurant in Lyons, France, Frank returned to Toronto and worked at some of the city's finest restaurants. He then completed a stage under the critically acclaimed Jean-Georges Vongerichten in New York City. He later served as Head Chef of Toronto institution, Centro for 5 years and then as Executive Chef to Marc Thuet.
Frank and his partner, Shawn Cooper, launched Frank's Kitchen in 2010 and FK in 2018, both of which garnered critical acclaim. Frank holds a Sommelier Certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and recently achieved 1st place at the Great Canadian Kitchen Party Toronto 2023. Year after year, he remains among the elite chefs invited to the prestigious Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival.
Frank's Kitchen and FK has been lauded by highly regarded top Toronto food critics such as James Chatto, Amy Pataki and Joanne Kates.

Prior to opening FK and Frank's Kitchen, Shawn was General Manager of the esteemed Members only Platinum Club at the Air Canada Centre for 5 years. With over 30 years of industry experience, she runs the business and leads FOH with an acclaimed team of service professionals most having been with the Frank's Kitchen family for 15 years. Shawn is also responsible for the renovation and full design for FK. Very passionate about food, beverage and high level service, she loves all things "restaurant".
